Main Feature

Useable at a depth of up to 40 m (132 feet) underwater.

This marine pack MPK-P5 is exclusively for use with the Sony Digital Still

Camera DSC-P5/P3, enabling the digital still camera to be used in the rain

or snow or at the beach as it is water-resistant. Not all Cyber-shot are

available in all countries.

For instructions on using your digital still camera with this pack, refer to

the operating instructions of the digital still camera.

A loose or nipped O-ring, or sand or dirt on the O-ring may cause

water leaks under water.

Be sure to check the O-ring before use.

Notice

·Before using the digital still camera underwater, first take the marine pack

to a depth of about 1 m (3.3 feet) and check that the digital still camera is

operating properly and that the marine pack is not leaking, then

commence your dive.

·In the unlikely event that a malfunction of the marine pack causes damage

due to water leakage, Sony does not guarantee against damages to the

equipment contained in it (digital still camera, battery, etc.) and the

recorded contents, nor expenses entailed in the photography.

Precautions

·Do not use the marine pack with the neck strap wrapped around your

neck under water. Doing so may result in personal injury or accidents.

·Do not subject the front glass to strong shock, as it may crack.

·Avoid opening the marine pack at the beach or on the water. Preparation

such as installing the digital still camera and changing the "Memory

Stick" should be done in a place with low humidity and no salty air.

·Do not throw the marine pack into the water.

·Avoid using the marine pack in places with strong waves.

·Avoid using the marine pack under the following situations:

in a very hot or humid place.

in water hotter than 40°C (104°F).

at temperatures lower than 0°C (32°F).

In these situations moisture condensation or water leakage may occur and

damage the equipment.

·Use the marine pack for no longer than 30 minutes at a time in

temperatures above 35°C (95°F).

·Do not leave the marine pack under direct sunlight in a very hot and

humid place for a long period of time. If you cannot avoid leaving the

marine pack under direct sunlight, be sure to cover the pack with a towel

or other protection.

·The digital still camera heats up if it is used inside the marine pack for a

long time. Before removing the digital still camera from the marine pack,

leave the marine pack in the shade or other cool place for a while to cool

down.

If sun oil is on the marine pack, be sure to wash it off thoroughly using

lukewarm water. If the marine pack is left with sun oil on its body, the

surface of the marine pack may become discolored or damaged.

Water leakage

If water happens to leak in, stop exposing the marine pack to water

immediately.

If the digital still camera gets wet, take it to the nearest Sony dealer

immediately. Repair costs must be borne by the customer.

Anti-fogging lens solution

Coat the surface of the glass with the supplied anti-fogging lens solution.

This is effective in preventing fogging.

O-ring

This equipment uses an O-ring to maintain its water resistance. For details,

refer to the separate O-ring Maintenance Manual.

Improper handling of the O-ring can result in water leakage.

Drip-proof packing

Do not remove or apply grease to the drip-proof packing. If the packing

rises up or is nipped, this may result in water leaks.

Grease

Use the grease in the blue tube (supplied). Using the grease in the yellow

tube or other manufacturer's grease will damage the O-ring, and cause

water leaks.

O-ring, grease and anti-fogging lens solution

You can obtain O-rings, grease and anti-fogging lens solution at your

nearest Sony dealer.

O-ring and drip-proof packing serviceable life

The serviceable life of O-rings and drip-proof packing varies with the

frequency of use of the marine pack and storage conditions. Generally, the

serviceable life of the parts is about one year.

When replacing the drip-proof packing, take it to your nearest Sony dealer.

Repair costs must be borne by the customer.

Maintenance

After recording

·After recording in a location subject to sea breezes, wash the marine pack

with fresh water to remove salt and sand with the buckles fastened

thoroughly, then wipe with a soft dry cloth. It is recommended that you

submerge the marine pack in fresh water for about 30 minutes. If it is left

with salt on it, metal portions may be damaged or rust may form and

cause water leakage.

·If sun oil is on the marine pack, be sure to wash it off thoroughly using

lukewarm water.

·Clean the inside of the marine pack with a soft dry cloth. Do not wash the

inside of the marine pack. Be sure to perform the above maintenance each

time you use the marine pack. Do not use any type of solvent such as

alcohol, benzine or thinner for cleaning, as this might damage the surface

finish of the marine pack.

When storing the marine pack

·Attach the spacer supplied with your marine pack to prevent wear of the

O-ring. (See illustration A)

·Prevent dust from collecting on the O-ring.

·Lightly coat the O-ring with grease and insert it into the seating groove,

then store the marine pack in a cool, well-ventilated location. Do not

fasten the buckle.

·Avoid storing the marine pack in a cold, very hot or humid place, or

together with naphthalene or camphor, as these conditions might damage

the unit.

Preparation

Preparing the digital still camera

Install the digital still camera in a low-humidity room or a similar

environment.

Opening or closing the marine pack in hot or humid locations may result in

fogging of the front glass.

For details, refer to the operating instructions supplied with your digital

still camera DSC-P5/P3.

1 Remove the wrist strap from the digital still camera DSC-P5/P3.

2 Install the battery pack.

Be sure to use a fully charged battery pack.

3 Insert the "Memory Stick".

4 Turn on the POWER of the digital still camera.

5 Turn on the LCD screen.

6 Set each of the settings on the digital still camera to auto mode.

7 Set the AF illuminator on the digital still camera to OFF.

This disables use of the AF illuminator.

Check the digital still camera's lens and LCD screen for any dirt.

For details, refer to the operating instructions supplied with your digital

still camera.

C Installing the digital still camera inside the

marine pack

1 Turn off the POWER of the digital still camera.

2 Set the Mode dial of the digital still camera to

(C-1)

3 Open the marine pack. (C-2)

Slide the buckle in the direction of the arrow 2 while pressing the lock release

button 1, remove in the direction of the arrow 3, and open the marine pack's

body.

Note

Take care not to lose the spacer as you will need it to store the marine pack.

4 Prepare the marine pack.

Be sure to read the separate O-ring Maintenance Manual.

Important details regarding handling of the O-ring are described in this

manual.

Use the O-ring remover (supplied) to remove the O-ring.

Coat the O-ring with grease.

Clean off any sand or dirt on the O-ring, in the seating groove, or on the marine

pack's body where it touches the O-ring. Coat the O-ring with a light, even

layer of grease.

Check the drip-proof packing for any sand or dirt.

Notes

· Do not remove the drip-proof packing or coat the drip-proof packing with

grease.

· The marine pack's body may be scratched or water may leak if the cover is

closed with sand or dirt on the O-ring or drip-proof packing.

Coat the front glass with anti-fogging lens solution.

Apply 3 or 4 drops of the anti-fogging lens solution to the inside of the front

glass and wipe evenly to spread the liquid using swabs, a soft cloth or tissue

paper.

Notes

· We recommend coating with anti-fogging lens solution immediately

before you close the marine pack.

· The marine pack's front glass might fog up, if there is not enough

anti-fogging lens solution on the front glass or you repeatedly open and

close the marine pack after coating with anti-fogging lens solution.

5 Set the Mode dial of the marine pack to the position shown in

C-3.

6 Install the digital still camera inside the marine pack. (C-4)

Always be sure to turn off the POWER switch when installing or removing

the digital still camera. The lens may be damaged if the power is left ON.

Check that the digital still camera is placed correctly.

When the DSC-P5 is put into the marine pack, the center of the lens shifts with

respect to the front glass of the marine pack. This will cause no problems when

recording.

7 Close the marine pack's body and fasten the buckle. (C-5)

Secure the marine pack's body, and fasten the buckle until it clicks.

If you close the buckle as shown in C-5 2, the buckle will be caught,

making it impossible to lock the marine pack.

Note

When closing the marine pack's body, make sure that there is no debris, sand,

hair, or any other foreign matter on the O-ring or in the seating groove. Water

leakage may result if any such foreign matter is caught in these places.

Neck strap

·Do not use the marine pack with the neck strap wrapped around your

neck under water.

·We recommend attaching the neck strap (supplied) before using the

marine pack. (See illustration D-1)

·Shorten the strap when using the neck strap as a wrist strap. (See

illustration D-2)

Using the Marine Pack

E Recording

1 Turn on the POWER. (E-1)

Check that the Mode dial operates normally.

The mode is switched in the following order by turning the Mode dial:

2 Set the Mode dial to the desired mode and press the shutter

You can record pictures while looking at the LCD screen.

Note

Do not idly turn the Mode dial with the digital still camera inside

the marine pack. Doing so might cause the digital still camera to

malfunction.

Using/Setting various functions F

You can use the various functions of the digital still camera DSC-P5/P3

installed in the marine pack.

Use the zoom G

Press the zoom button.

Press on the W side for wide-angle. (Subject appears farther away.)

Press on the T side for telephoto. (Subject appears closer.)

Notes

·You cannot record images while looking through the finder.

·If you do not record images for over three minutes, the camera turns off

automatically to prevent the battery from wearing down. To use the

camera again, press the POWER switch again.

H Playing back with the control button

You can play back images on the LCD screen using the control button. You

cannot hear the sound.

I Removing the digital still camera

1 Turn off the POWER. (I-1)

Always be sure to turn off the POWER switch when installing or removing

the digital still camera. The lens may be damaged if the power is left ON.

2 Set the Mode dial of the digital still camera to the position

shown in I-2.

3 Remove the buckle while pressing the lock release button, and

open the marine pack's body.

4 Remove the digital still camera from the marine pack.

When the digital still camera has been used for a long time, the digital still camera

heats up. Turn the power off and leave for a while to cool down before removing it

from the marine pack.

Be careful not to drop the digital still camera when removing it.

Note

Before opening the marine pack, rinse it with tap water or fresh water and

then wipe the water off with a soft cloth. When opening it, be careful not to

let any water from your body, hair, or wetsuit cuffs drip onto the digital

still camera.

Before making a dive

·Before recording images underwater, first take the marine pack to a depth

of about 1 m (3.3 feet) and check that it operates properly and that there

are no leaks, then commence your dive.

·Install the digital still camera in the marine pack before diving, and avoid

opening and closing the marine pack while on board boats or at the

seashore as much as possible. When installing the digital still camera, do it

in a place that has as low a humidity as possible.

·Before using the marine pack, make sure that no debris has been caught

between the front and back halves of the marine pack's body.

·In images recorded underwater, the subject sometimes has a bluish cast.

To correct the colour when this happens, use the colour filter kit VF-MP5K

(optional).

Times that are suited for recording

The most suitable time for recording images is between 10:00 AM and 2:00

PM, when the sun is directly overhead.

To record pictures in places where the sunlight does not reach well or at

night, please use the underwater video light HVL-ML20 (optional).

Avertissement

Marine Pack à 1 mètre (3,3 pieds) sous l'eau environ et assurez-vous que

l'eau ne s'infiltre pas à l'intérieur et que l'appareil photo numérique

fonctionne correctement.

·Dans le cas très improbable où une anomalie du Marine Pack causerait

des dommages dus à une infiltration d'eau, notez que la garantie Sony ne

couvre pas les dommages subis par le matériel (appareil photo

Précautions

·N'enroulez pas la courroie du Marine Pack autour de votre cou pour

fendre.

·N'ouvrez pas le Marine Pack sur la plage ou dans l'eau. Les opérations

le changement de "Memory Stick" doivent être effectuées à l'abri de

l'humidité et de l'air salin.

·Ne jetez pas le Marine Pack dans l'eau.

l'intérieur du Marine Pack. Avant d'en retirer l'appareil photo, laissez

temporairement le Marine Pack à l'ombre ou dans un endroit frais pour

qu'il se refroidisse.

S'il y a de la crème solaire sur le Marine Pack, prenez soin de l'éliminer

convenablement avec de l'eau tiède. Si la surface du boîtier du Marine

Pack est souillée avec de la crème solaire, elle risque d'en être

décolorée et endommagée.

Infiltration d'eau

Si de l'eau s'infiltre dans le Marine Pack, arrêtez immédiatement de

l'exposer à l'eau.

Si l'appareil photo numérique est mouillé, portez-le immédiatement chez le

revendeur Sony le plus proche. Les frais de réparation seront à la charge de

l'utilisateur.

Liquide antibuée pour objectif

Passez du liquide antibuée pour objectif fourni sur le verre. Ce produit

empêche efficacement la formation de buée.

Joint torique

L'équipement utilise un joint torique pour garantir son étanchéité. Pour

plus d'informations, reportez-vous au Mode d'emploi séparé du joint

torique.

Une manipulation inadéquate du joint torique peut entraîner une

infiltration d'eau.

Garniture pare-gouttes

Ne retirez pas et ne placez pas de graisse sur la garniture pare-gouttes car

ceci pourrait entraîner une saillie de la garniture hors du boîtier ou son

pincement.

Graisse

Utilisez la graisse du tube bleu (fourni). L'emploi de la graisse du tube

jaune ou d'une graisse d'un autre fabricant endommagerait le joint torique

et entraînerait des infiltrations d'eau.

Joint torique, graisse et liquide antibuée pour objectif

Vous pouvez vous procurer des joints toriques, de la graisse et du liquide

antibuée pour objectif chez votre revendeur Sony.

Durée de service du joint torique et de la garniture pare-

gouttes

La durée de service du joint torique et de la garniture pare-gouttes varie

selon la fréquence d'utilisation du Marine Pack et les conditions

d'entreposage. Elle est généralement d'une année environ.

Pour le remplacement de la garniture pare-gouttes, apportez le Marine Pack

chez votre revendeur Sony.

Les frais de réparation seront à la charge de l'utilisateur.

Entretien

Après la prise de vues

·Après une prise de vues dans un endroit soumis à la brise marine, lavez le

Marine Pack à l'eau douce avec les fermoirs correctement verrouillés pour

en faire partir le sel et le sable, puis essuyez-le avec un chiffon doux et sec.

Il est recommandé de plonger le Marine Pack dans de l'eau douce

pendant 30 minutes environ. Ne laissez pas de sel dessus car il pourrait

attaquer les parties métalliques et de la rouille risquerait de se former et

de causer une infiltration d'eau.

·S'il y a de la crème solaire sur le Marine Pack, prenez soin de l'éliminer

convenablement avec de l'eau tiède.

·Ne lavez pas l'intérieur du Marine Pack, mais nettoyez-le avec un linge

doux et sec. Effectuez les opérations d'entretien ci-dessus après chaque

utilisation du Marine Pack. N'utilisez aucune sorte de solvant, tel

qu'alcool, benzine ou diluant pour le nettoyage car ces substances

peuvent attaquer la finition du Marine Pack.

Lors du stockage du Marine Pack

·Posez l'entretoise fournie avec le Marine Pack pour protéger le joint

torique contre l'usure. (Voir l'illustration A)

·Empêchez l'accumulation de poussière sur le joint torique.

·Passez une légère couche de graisse sur le joint torique et insérez-le dans

la gorge du boîtier. Rangez ensuite le Marine Pack dans un endroit frais et

bien aéré. Ne verrouillez pas le fermoir.

·Ne rangez pas le Marine Pack dans un endroit froid, très chaud ou

humide ou avec de la naphtaline ou du camphre. Ceci pourrait

l'endommager.

Préparation

Préparation de l'appareil photo numérique

Installez l'appareil photo numérique autant que possible dans un endroit peu

humide En effet, l'ouverture et/ou la fermeture du Marine Pack dans un

endroit chaud ou humide provoquerait de la buée sur le verre avant.

Pour plus d'informations, reportez-vous au mode d'emploi, fourni avec

l'appareil photo numérique DSC-P5/P3.

1 Retirez la dragonne de l'appareil photo numérique DSC-P5/P3.

2 Mettez la batterie en place.

Utilisez une batterie complètement chargée.

3 Insérez le "Memory Stick".

4 Mettez l'appareil photo numérique sous tension (POWER).

5 Allumez l'écran LCD.

6 Réglez toutes les fonctions de l'appareil photo numérique en

mode automatique.

7 Mettez hors service (OFF) l'éclairage AF de l'appareil photo

numérique.

L'éclairage AF est ainsi invalidé.

Assurez-vous que l'objectif et l'écran LCD de l'appareil photo numérique

ne sont pas souillés.

C Mise en place de l'appareil photo

numérique

1 Mettez l'appareil photo hors tension (par le commutateur

POWER).

2 Placez le sélecteur Mode de l'appareil photo sur

. (C-1)

3 Ouvrez le Marine Pack. (C-2)

Glissez le fermoir dans le sens de la flèche 2 en appuyant sur le bouton de

déverrouillage 1, retirez dans le sens de la flèche 3 et ouvrez le boîtier du Marine

Pack.

Remarque

Prenez soin de ne pas perdre l'entretoise car elle sera nécessaire lors du rangement

du Marine Pack.

4 Préparez le Marine Pack.

Veillez à lire le Mode d'emploi séparé du joint torique, car il renferme des

informations importantes sur la manipulation du joint torique.

Servez de l'extracteur de joint torique (fourni) pour déposer le joint.

Enduisez le joint torique avec de la graisse.

Enlevez le sable et les autres saletés sur le joint torique, sur la gorge du joint ou

sur la surface du boîtier entrant en contact avec le joint torique. Enduisez le joint

torique d'une légère couche uniforme de graisse.

Assurez-vous que la garniture pare-gouttes est exempte de sable et de saletés.

Remarques

· Ne retirez pas la garniture pare-gouttes et ne l'enduisez pas avec de la graisse.

· Le boîtier risque d'être griffé et de l'eau pourrait s'infiltrer si le couvercle est

refermé alors que du sable ou de la saleté se trouve sur le joint torique ou sur

la garniture pare-gouttes.

Appliquez du liquide antibuée sur le verre avant.

Mettez 3 ou 4 gouttes de liquide antibuée sur la face intérieure du verre avant et

étalez-les uniformément à l'aide d'un coton-tige, d'un tissu doux ou d'un papier

de soie.

Remarques

· Recouvrez le verre de liquide juste avant de fermer le caisson.

· De la buée peut se former sur le verre s'il n'est pas assez recouvert de liquide

ou si le caisson est ouvert et fermé plusieurs fois de suite après avoir

recouvert le verre de liquide.

5 Réglez le sélecteur Mode du Marine Pack à la position indiquée

en C-3.

6 Installez l'appareil photo numérique dans le Marine Pack. (C-4)

Coupez le commutateur d'alimentation (POWER) avant d'installer ou de

retirer l'appareil photo numérique, car l'objectif risque d'être endommagé

si l'appareil est laissé sous tension (ON).

Assurez-vous que l'appareil photo est correctement disposé.

Lorsque le DSC-P5 est installé dans le Marine Pack, le centre de l'objectif est décalé

par rapport au verre avant du Marine Pack, mais ceci ne causera aucun problème

lors de l'enregistrement.

7 Fermez le boîtier latéral et bouclez le fermoir. (C-5)

Immobiliser le boîtier latéral et bouclez le fermoir jusqu'à ce qu'il se verrouille.

Si vous bouclez le fermoir comme illustré en C-5 2, il sera coincé, ce qui

rendra difficile la fermeture du Marine Pack.

Remarque

Lorsque vous refermez le Marine Pack, assurez-vous qu'il n'y a pas de saletés,

I Retrait de l'appareil photo numérique

1 Mettez l'appareil hors tension (POWER). (I-1)

Coupez toujours le commutateur POWER sur arrêt avant de mettre en

place ou de retirer l'appareil photo numérique. Si vous laissez l'appareil

sous tension, son objectif risque d'être endommagé.

2 Réglez le sélecteur Mode de l'appareil photo numérique à la

position, indiquée en I-2.

3 Déposez le fermoir en appuyant sur le bouton de déverrouillage

et ouvrez le Marine Pack.

4 Retirez l'appareil photo numérique hors du Marine Pack.

Lorsque l'appareil photo numérique a fonctionné pendant longtemps, il est

relativement chaud. Mettez-le hors tension et laissez-le se refroidir pendant un

certain temps avant de le retirer du Marine Pack.

Veillez à ne pas faire tomber l'appareil en le retirant.

Remarque

Avant d'ouvrir le Marine Pack, rincez-le avec de l'eau du robinet ou de

l'eau douce, puis essuyez-le complètement avec un chiffon doux. Lorsque

vous l'ouvrez, veillez à ne pas le mouiller avec l'eau de votre combinaison

de plongée, de vos cheveux ou de votre corps.

Avant de partir en plongée

·Avant de partir faire de la photographie sous-marine, immergez le Marine

Pack à 1 mètre (3,3 pieds) sous l'eau environ et assurez-vous qu'il

fonctionne correctement et que de l'eau ne s'infiltre pas à l'intérieur.

·Installez l'appareil photo numérique dans le Marine Pack avant la plongée

et, autant que possible, évitez de l'ouvrir et de le fermer à bord d'un

bateau ou sur la plage. Installez l'appareil dans le Marine Pack dans un

endroit aussi peu humide que possible.

·Avant d'utiliser le Marine Pack, assurez-vous qu'il n'y a pas de saletés

·Sur des images prises sous l'eau, le sujet présente parfois une dominante

Le meilleur moment de la journée pour la prise de vues est entre 10 h et

14 h, lorsque le soleil est à la verticale.

Pour photographier dans des endroits mal éclairés par le soleil ou la nuit,

utilisez la torche de plongée sous-marine HVL-ML20 (en option).

Voorbereiden van de digitale stilbeeldcamera

Installeer de digitale stilbeeldcamera in het onderwaterhuis in een ruimte met

1 Verwijder de polsband van de digitale stilbeeldcamera

DSC-P5/P3.

2 Installeer de batterij.

Zorg dat u altijd gebruik maakt van een volledig opgeladen batterij.

3 Plaats de "Memory Stick".

4 Schakel de spanning (POWER) van de digitale stilbeeldcamera

in.

5 Schakel het LCD-scherm in.

6 Zet alle instelfuncties van uw digitale stilbeeldcamera in de

automatische stand.

7 Schakel de autofocus-lichtbron van uw digitale stilbeeldcamera

in de "OFF" stand.

De autofocus-lichtbron werkt dan niet meer.

C Installeren van de digitale stilbeeldcamera

1 Zet de POWER schakelaar van uw digitale stilbeeldcamera in de

uit-stand.

2 Zet de functiekeuzeknop van de digitale stilbeeldcamera op

(C-1)

3 Open het onderwater-camerahuis. (C-2)

Schuif de sluitklem in de richting van de pijl 2 terwijl u het ontgrendelknopje 1

ingedrukt houdt, maak de klem los in de richting van de pijl 3 en open de beide

helften van het onderwater-camerahuis.

Opmerking

Pas op dat u het afstandsstuk niet verliest, want dit zult u weer nodig hebben bij

het opbergen van het onderwater-camerahuis.

4 Tref de nodige voorbereidingen aan het onderwater-

camerahuis.

Lees ook de afzonderlijke O-ring onderhoudshandleiding.

Die aparte handleiding bevat gedetailleerde aanwijzingen voor het

behandelen van de belangrijke O-ring.

Gebruik de (bijgeleverde) O-ring trekker om de O-ring te verwijderen.

Vet de O-ring licht in met smeervet.

Verwijder echter eerst alle stof, vuil of zand van de O-ring, de pakkinggroef en

de pakkingrand van het onderwaterhuis waar de O-ring tegenaan sluit. Vet de

O-ring daarna in met een gelijkmatig dun laagje smeervet.

Inspecteer de druppelbestendige pakking zorgvuldig op stof, vuil of

zandkorrels.

Opmerkingen

· Verwijder de druppelbestendige pakking niet en vet deze niet in met

smeervet.

· Als er stof, vuil of zandkorrels op de O-ring of de druppelbestendige pakking

zijn wanneer u het onderwaterhuis sluit, kan dat schade of waterlekkage

veroorzaken.

Wrijf het voorglas in met ontwasemingsvloeistof.

Breng 3 of 4 druppeltjes ontwasemingsvloeistof aan op de binnenkant van het

voorglas en wrijf de vloeistof gelijkmatig uit met een zacht doekje, tissue of

wattenstaafje.

Opmerkingen

· Het inwrijven van het voorglas met ontwasemingsvloeistof kunt u het best

doen vlak voordat u het onderwaterhuis sluit.

· In de open lucht kan de ontwasemingsvloeistof gauw verdampen, dus als er

wat te weinig op het voorglas is aangebracht of als u het onderwaterhuis na

het inwrijven nog enkele malen opent en sluit, loopt u de kans dat het

voorglas alsnog beslaat.

5 Zet de functiekeuzeknop van het onderwaterhuis in de stand

getoond in afbeelding C-3.

6 Installeer de digitale fotocamera in het onderwaterhuis. (C-4)

Let op dat u voor het aanbrengen of verwijderen van de digitale

fotocamera eerst de POWER schakelaar in de uit-stand zet. In de "ON"

stand zou de lens beschadigd kunnen worden.

Controleer of de digitale fotocamera stevig op zijn plaats zit.

Bij gebruik van de DSC-P5 fotocamera in het onderwater-camerahuis zal het

midden van de lens verschuiven ten opzichte van het voorglas van het

onderwaterhuis. Dit vormt echter geen enkel probleem bij het opnemen.

7 Sluit de helften van het onderwaterhuis en maak de sluitklem

vast. (C-5)

Zorg dat de helften precies op elkaar aansluiten en druk de sluitklem aan totdat

die vastklikt.

Juiste stand voor het dichtdoen van de sluitklem

Als u de sluitklem probeert te sluiten in de verkeerde stand van voorbeeld

C-5 2, kan de klem blokkeren en zult u het onderwaterhuis niet goed

kunnen sluiten.

Opmerking

Bij het sluiten van de onderwaterbehuizing dient u er zeker van te zijn dat er op

de O-ring en in de pakkinggroef geen vuil, zand, haren of andere voorwerpen

meer aanwezig zijn die daar niet thuishoren. Als er verontreinigingen op de

genoemde plaatsen blijven zitten, kan er waterlekkage optreden.

Draagriem

·Wikkel bij gebruik onder water het onderwaterhuis niet met de draagriem

om uw hals.

·Het is aanbevolen voor het gebruik van het onderwater-camerahuis eerst

de (bijgeleverde) draagriem er aan te bevestigen. (Zie afb. D-1)

·Stel de draagriem korter in wanneer u het niet om uw hals draagt, maar

het gebruikt als polsriempje. (Zie afb. D-2)

Gebruik van de onderwaterbehuizing

E Opnemen

1 Schakel het apparaat in met de POWER schakelaar. (E-1)

Controleer of de functiekeuzeknop naar behoren werkt.

Tijdens het opnemen van bewegende beelden wordt er geen geluid opgenomen.

fotocamera is meegeleverd.

Opmerking

Draai niet onnodig aan de functiekeuzeknop wanneer de digitale

fotocamera in het onderwater-camerahuis zit. Teveel draaien kan storing in

de werking van de digitale fotocamera veroorzaken.

Met deze toetsen kunt u de diverse functies van de DSC-P5/P3 digitale

fotocamera in het onderwater-camerahuis bedienen.

Gebruik van de zoom G

Opmerkingen

·U kunt bij het opnemen de beelden niet in de zoeker zien.

·Indien u de camera tijdens het opnemen gedurende een periode van

langer dan drie minuten niet bedient, zal deze automatisch uitschakelen

om te voorkomen dat de batterij uitgeput raakt. Om de camera weer te

·No deje el portacámara subacuático bajo la luz solar directa en un lugar

muy cálido y húmedo durante largo tiempo. Si no puede evitar dejarlo

bajo la luz solar directa, asegúrese de cubrirlo con una toalla u otra

protección.

·La cámara digital se calentará si se utiliza dentro del portacámara

subacuático durante mucho tiempo. Antes de extraer la cámara digital del

Si hay aceite bronceador en el portacámara subacuático, lávelo

completamente utilizando agua tibia. Si dejase el portacámara

mismo podría decolorar o dañarse.

Infiltración de agua

En caso producirse una infiltración de agua al interior, deje de exponer el

portacámara subacuático al agua inmediatamente.

Si se moja la cámara digital, llévela inmediatamente al distribuidor Sony

más cercano. Los costes de reparación tendrá que abonarlos el usuario.

Líquido antiempañante para objetivos

Cubra la superficie del cristal con el líquido antiempañante para objetivos

suministrado. Esto sirve para evitar el empañamiento.

Junta tórica

Este equipo utiliza una junta tórica para mantener su resistencia al agua.

Con respecto a los detalles, consulte el Manual de mantenimiento de la

junta tórica separado.

El manejo inadecuado de la junta tórica podría resultar en la infiltración de

agua.

Empaquetadura impermeable

No quite ni aplique grasa a la empaquetadura contra la infiltración de gotas

Duración útil de la junta tórica y de la empaquetadura

impermeable

La duración útil de las juntas tóricas y de la empaquetadura impermeable

variará con la frecuencia de utilización del portacámara subacuático y las

condiciones de almacenamiento. En general, la duración útil de las piezas es

de un año.

Cuando tenga que reemplazar la empaquetadura impermeable, llévela a su

proveedor Sony. Los costes de reparación puede tener que abonarlos el

usuario.

Mantenimiento

Después de grabar

·Después de grabar en un lugar expuesto a brisas marinas, lave el

portacámara subacuático con agua dulce para retirar la sal y la arena con

las hebillas perfectamente abrochadas, y a continuación frote con un paño

suave y seco. Se recomienda sumergir el portacámara subacuático en agua

dulce durante unos 30 minutos. Si se deja sal en él, podrán dañarse las

partes metálicas o formarse óxido y ocasionar fugas de agua.

·Si hay aceite bronceador en el portacámara subacuático, lávelo

completamente utilizando agua tibia.

·Limpie el interior del portacámara subacuático con un paño suave y seco.

No lave el interior del portacámara subacuático. Cerciórese de realizar el

mantenimiento indicado cada vez que lo utilice. No use ningún

disolvente, como alcohol, bencina, ni diluidor de pintura para la limpieza,

ya que podría dañar el acabado de la superficie del mismo.

Cuando guarde el portacámara subacuático

·Ponga el espaciador suministrado con el portacámara subacuático para

evitar el desgaste de la junta tórica. (Consulte la ilustración A.)

·Evite que se acumule polvo en la junta tórica.

·Recubra ligeramente la junta tórica con grasa e insértela en la ranura de

asiento, luego guarde el portacámara subacuático en un lugar fresco y

bien ventilado. No abroche la hebilla.

·Evite guardar el portacámara subacuático en un lugar muy cálido o

húmedo, o junto con naftalina o alcanfor, ya que en estas condiciones se

puede dañar la unidad.

Cerciórese de leer el Manual de mantenimiento de la junta tórica.

Los detalles importantes relacionados con la junta tórica se describen en

este manual.

Utilice el extractor de la junta tórica (suministrado) para retirar la junta tórica.

Recubra la junta tórica con grasa.

Limpie la arena o la suciedad de la junta tórica, de la ranura de asentamiento, o

del cuerpo del portacámara subacuático donde toque dicha junta. Recubra la

junta tórica con una capa ligera y uniforme de grasa.

Compruebe que en la empaquetadura impermeable no haya arena ni suciedad.

Notas

· No retire la empaquetadura impermeable ni la engrase.

· El cuerpo del portacámara subacuático puede rallarse o puede producirse

infiltración de agua si cierra la cubierta con arena o suciedad en la junta tórica

de la empaquetadura impermeable.

Recubra el cristal frontal con solución antiempañante.

Aplique 3 o 4 gotas de solución antiempañante al interior del cristal frontal y

frótelo uniformemente para esparcir la solución utilizando palillos de cabeza de

algodón, un paño suave, o un pañuelo de papel.

Notas

· Le recomendamos que revista el interior con líquido antiempañante para

objetivos inmediatamente antes de cerrar el portacámara subacuático.

· El cristal frontal del portacámara subacuático puede empañarse si no hay

suficiente líquido antiempañante para objetivos en el cristal delantero, o si

abre y cierra repetidamente el portacámara subacuático después de haberle

aplicado el líquido antiempañante para objetivos.

5 Ponga el selector de modo del portacámara subacuático en la

posición mostrada en C3.

6 Instale la cámara digital en el interior del portacámara

subacuático. (C4)

Cerciórese de poner en OFF el interruptor POWER antes de instalar o

extraer la cámara digital. Si dejase la alimentación conectada, el objetivo

podría dañarse.

Compruebe si la cámara digital está correctamente instalada.

Cuando coloque la DSCP5 en el portacámara subacuático, el centro del objetivo se

desplazará con respecto al cristal frontal de dicho portacámara. Esto no causará

problemas en la grabación.

7 Cierre el cuerpo del portacámara subacuático y abroche la

hebilla. (C5)

Asegure el cuerpo del portacámara subacuático, y después abroche la hebilla hasta

que chasquee.

Si cierra la hebilla como se muestra en C5 2, se pillará imposibilitando el

cierre del portacámara deportivo.

Nota

Cuando cierre el cuerpo del portacámara subacuático, asegúrese de que no haya

residuos, arena, cabellos, ni ninguna otra materia extraña en la junta tórica o en

la ranura de asiento. Si hay alguna de tales materias extrañas en estos lugares

podrá producirse una fuga de agua.

Correa para el cuello

·No utilice el portacámara subacuático con la correa para el cuello colocada

en su cuello bajo el agua.

·Le recomendamos que fije la correa para el cuello (suministrada) antes de

utilizar el portacámara deportivo. (Consulte la ilustración D1.)

·Afloje la correa cuando desee utilizarla como correa para la muñeca.

funcionamiento de la cámara digital.

Utilización/Ajuste de diversas funciones F

Usted podrá utilizar diversas funciones de la cámara digital DSCP5/P3

instalada en el portacámara subacuático.

Utilización del zoom G

Pulse el botón del zoom.

Pulse el lado W para gran angular. (El motivo aparecerá más alejado.)

Pulse el lado T para telefoto. (El motivo aparecerá más cerca.)

Notas

·Usted no podrá grabar imágenes cuando observe a través del visor.

·Si no graba imágenes durante más de tres minutos, la alimentación de la

cámara se desconectará automáticamente para evitar que se descargue la

batería. Para volver a utilizar la cámara, presione de nuevo el interruptor

POWER.

H Reproducción con el mando de control

Puede reproducir imágenes en la pantalla LCD utilizando el mando de

control. No podrá oír el sonido.

I Extracción de la cámara digital

1 Desconecte la alimentación (POWER). (I1)

Asegúrese siempre de desactivar el interruptor POWER cuando instale o

extraiga la cámara digital. Si está conectada la alimentación podrá dañarse

el objetivo.

2 Ponga el control de modo de la cámara digital en la posición

mostrada en I2.

3 Abra la hebilla manteniendo presionado el botón de liberación

del cierre, y abra el cuerpo del portacámara subacuático.

4 Extraiga la cámara digital del portacámara subacuático.

Cuando haya utilizado la cámara digital durante mucho tiempo, se calentará.

Desconecte su alimentación, y deje que se enfríe durante cierto tiempo antes de

extraerla del portacámara subacuático.

Tenga cuidado de no dejar caer la cámara digital cuando la extraiga.

Nota

Antes de abrir el portacámara subacuático, aclárelo con agua del grifo o con

agua dulce y luego frótelo con un paño suave y seco. Cuando lo abra, tenga

cuidado de no dejar que chorree agua de su cuerpo, cabello, o traje de agua

en la cámara digital.

Antes de bucear

·Antes de grabar imágenes bajo el agua, sumerja primero el portacámara

subacuático a una profundidad de aproximadamente 1 metro y

compruebe que funciona debidamente y que no haya fugas, y a

continuación comience su buceo.

·Instale la cámara digital en el portacámara subacuático antes de bucear, y

evite, en lo posible, abrir y cerrarlo cuando esté en una embarcación o en

la costa del mar. Cuando instale la cámara digital, hágalo en un lugar

donde haya la menor humedad posible.

·Antes de utilizar le portacámara subacuático, cerciórese de que no hayan

residuos pillados entre las mitades delantera y trasera del cuerpo del

portacámara subacuático.

·En las imágenes grabadas bajo el agua, el motivo tendrá a veces un tono

azulado. Cuando suceda esto, para corregir el color, utilice un juego de

filtros de color VFMP5K (opcional).

Horas apropiadas para grabar

La hora más apropiada para grabar imágenes es entre las 10:00 AM y las

2:00 PM, cuando el sol se encuentra directamente encima.

Para grabar imágenes en lugares en los que no llegue bien la luz solar, o por

la noche, utilice una lámpara para vídeo subacuática HVLML20 (opcional).

Te gebruiken tot op een diepte van wel 40 meter onder water.

Deze onderwaterbehuizing MPK-P5 is uitsluitend bestemd voor gebruik

met de digitale stilbeeldcamera DSC-P5/P3 van Sony. Aangezien deze

onderwaterbehuizing waterbestendig is, kan de digitale stilbeeldcamera

hiermee ook worden gebruikt in de regen, in de sneeuw of op het strand.

Bepaalde Cyber-shot camera's zijn niet in alle landen verkrijgbaar.

Nadere aanwijzingen over het gebruik van uw digitale stilbeeldcamera met

deze behuizing vindt u in de gebruiksaanwijzing van de digitale

stilbeeldcamera.

Een O-ring die los zit, beschadigd of vuil is door stof of zand zou

onder water lekkage kunnen veroorzaken.

Controleer voor het gebruik altijd zorgvuldig de O-ring.

Zie voor nadere bijzonderheden de O-ring onderhoudshandleiding.

Opmerking

·Alvorens u de digitale stilbeeldcamera onder water gaat gebruiken, dient

u de onderwaterbehuizing eerst tot op een diepte van circa 1 meter te

brengen en te controleren of de digitale stilbeeldcamera naar behoren

werkt en de onderwaterbehuizing niet lekt. Daarna kunt u beginnen met

duiken.

·Indien er door een defect van de onderwaterbehuizing als gevolg van

waterlekkage schade ontstaat, hetgeen overigens zeer onwaarschijnlijk is,

aanvaardt Sony geen aansprakelijkheid voor eventuele beschadiging van

de daarin aanwezige apparatuur (digitale stilbeeldcamera, batterij, enz.)

en de gemaakte opnamen, en evenmin voor de kosten die verbonden zijn

aan het fotograferen.

Voorzorgsmaatregelen

·Wikkel bij voor gebruik onder water het onderwaterhuis niet met de

draagriem om uw hals. Dit zou ongelukken kunnen veroorzaken, met

kans op persoonlijk letsel.

·Stel het glas aan de voorkant niet bloot aan krachtige schokken, aangezien

het hierdoor kan gaan barsten.

·Open de onderwaterbehuizing niet op het strand of op het water. De

voorbereidingen, zoals het installeren van de digitale stilbeeldcamera en

het verwisselen van de "Memory Stick", dienen te geschieden op een

plaats met een lage vochtigheid en zonder zoute lucht.

·Gooi de onderwaterbehuizing niet in het water.

·Gebruik de onderwaterbehuizing niet op plaatsen met een sterke golfslag.

·Gebruik de onderwaterbehuizing niet onder de volgende

omstandigheden:

op een zeer warme of vochtige plaats

in water met een temperatuur boven 40°C

bij temperaturen beneden 0°C

Onder bovengenoemde omstandigheden kan er condensvorming of

waterlekkage optreden waardoor de apparatuur beschadigd kan raken.

·Bij temperaturen boven 35°C mag u de onderwaterbehuizing niet langer

dan 30 minuten achtereen gebruiken.

·Laat de onderwaterbehuizing niet achter op een zeer warme en vochtige

plaats waar deze langdurig is blootgesteld aan direct zonlicht. Indien u de

onderwaterbehuizing beslist moet achterlaten op een plaats met direct

zonlicht, dient u de behuizing altijd te bedekken met een handdoek of

andere bescherming.

·De digitale fotocamera kan na langdurig gebruik in het onderwaterhuis

nogal warm worden. Alvorens u de digitale fotocamera uit het

onderwaterhuis verwijdert, dient u eerst het onderwaterhuis met de

camera er in een tijdje in de schaduw te leggen of op een andere koele

plaats, om de camera te laten afkoelen.

Als er zonnebrandolie op het onderwaterhuis is gekomen, wast u het

dan grondig af met lauwwarm water. Resten zonnebrandolie op het

onderwaterhuis kunnen de afwerking van het camerahuis aantasten of

doen verkleuren.

Waterlekkage

Indien er toevallig water naar binnen is gelekt, zorg dan onmiddellijk dat

de onderwaterbehuizing niet langer aan water wordt blootgesteld.

Indien de digitale stilbeeldcamera nat is geworden, dient u deze

onmiddellijk naar de dichtstbijzijnde Sony-handelaar te brengen. De kosten

van de reparatie worden de klant in rekening gebracht.

Lensvloeistof

Breng op het glasoppervlak een laagje lensvloeistof aan. Deze bijgeleverde

lensvloeistof is een doeltreffend middel om te voorkomen dat de lens

beslaat.

O-ring

Dit apparaat is voorzien van een waterdichte pakking met een O-ring. Zie

voor nadere aanwijzingen de aparte gebruiksaanwijzing van de O-ring.

Als de O-ring niet juist wordt behandeld, kan er water in het apparaat

binnenlekken.

Druppelbestendige pakking

Probeer niet de druppelbestendige pakking te verwijderen of in te vetten.

De druppelbestendige pakking kan daardoor gaan uitsteken en tussen de

helften van het onderwaterhuis klem raken.

Smeervet

Gebruik het (bijgeleverde) smeervet in de blauwe tube. Andere soorten vet,

uit een gele tube of van een ander merk, kunnen de O-ring beschadigen en

leiden tot waterlekkage.

Reserve O-ringen, smeervet en lensvloeistof

Reserve O-ringen, smeervet en lensvloeistof zijn verkrijgbaar bij uw

dichtstbijzijnde Sony leverancier.

Levensduur van de O-ring en druppelbestendige pakking

Hoe lang de O-ring en de druppelbestendige pakking mee zullen gaan, is

afhankelijk van hoe intensief het onderwaterhuis wordt gebruikt en hoe het

wordt bewaard. Gemiddeld zullen deze onderdelen ongeveer een jaar

meegaan.

Voor het vervangen van de druppelbestendige pakking brengt u het

onderwaterhuis naar uw dichtstbijzijnde Sony leverancier.

De onderhoudskosten worden de klant in rekening gebracht.

Onderhoud

Na het opnemen

·Na het maken van opnamen op een plaats met harde zeewind dient u de

onderwaterbehuizing met de gespen stevig vast met zoet water te

wassen om zout en zand te verwijderen. Veeg na met een zachte droge

doek. Het is aan te bevelen om de onderwaterbehuizing gedurende circa

30 minuten ondergedompeld te laten in zoet water. Indien er zout op blijft

zitten, bestaat de kans dat de metalen onderdelen beschadigd raken of

gaan roesten en waterlekkage veroorzaken.

·Als er zonnebrandolie op het onderwaterhuis is gekomen, wast u het dan

grondig af met lauwwarm water.

·Veeg de binnenkant van het onderwaterhuis schoon met een zachte droge

doek. Was het van binnen niet met water. Verricht het bovenstaande

onderhoud iedere keer dat u het onderwater-camerahuis gebruikt.

Gebruik voor het schoonmaken geen oplosmiddelen zoals thinner,

benzeen, alcohol en dergelijke, want deze middelen kunnen de afwerking

van het onderwater-camerahuis aantasten.

Opbergen van de onderwaterbehuizing

·Bevestig het met de onderwaterbehuizing meegeleverde afstandsstuk om

slijtage van de O-ring te voorkomen. (Zie afb. A)

·Zorg dat er zich geen stof op de O-ring kan ophopen.

·Breng een dun laagje vet aan op de O-ring en plaats deze in de

pakkinggroef. Berg de onderwaterbehuizing vervolgens op een koele,

goed geventileerde plaats op. Maak de sluitklem niet vast.

·De onderwaterbehuizing mag niet worden opgeborgen op een koude of

zeer warme of vochtige plaats, en ook niet samen met naftaleen of kamfer,

aangezien de behuizing hierdoor beschadigd kan raken.

I Verwijderen van de digitale stilbeeldcamera

1 Schakel de spanning (POWER) uit. (I-1)

Schakel altijd de spanning (POWER) uit alvorens u de digitale

stilbeeldcamera gaat installeren of verwijderen. Indien de spanning is

ingeschakeld, kan de lens beschadigd raken.

2 Zet de functiekeuzeknop van de digitale stilbeeldcamera in de

stand getoond in afbeelding I-2.

3 Open de sluitklem terwijl u het ontgrendelknopje ingedrukt

houdt en open het onderwater-camerahuis.

4 Verwijder de digitale stillbeeldcamera uit het onderwaterhuis.

De digitale stilbeeldcamera kan na langdurig gebruik in het onderwaterhuis nogal

warm worden. Alvorens de digitale stilbeeldcamera uit het onderwaterhuis te

verwijderen, schakelt u het apparaat uit en laat u het eerst een tijdje liggen om af te

koelen.

Pas op dat u de digitale stilbeeldcamera niet laat vallen wanneer u deze

verwijdert.

Opmerking

Alvorens u de onderwaterbehuizing opent, dient u deze af te spoelen met

leidingwater of zoet water. Veeg het water er vervolgens af met een zachte

doek. Wanneer u de onderwaterbehuizing opent, dient u erop te letten dat

er geen waterdruppels van uw lichaam, haar of duikpak op de digitale

stilbeeldcamera terechtkomen.

Alvorens u gaat duiken

·Alvorens u beelden onder water gaat opnemen, dient u de

onderwaterbehuizing eerst tot op een diepte van circa 1 meter te brengen

en te controleren of deze niet lekt. Daarna kunt u beginnen met duiken.

·Installeer de digitale stilbeeldcamera geruime tijd voor het duiken in het

onderwater-camerahuis en zorg dat het onderwaterhuis op zee of aan de

waterkant zo min mogelijk geopend wordt. Kies voor het aanbrengen van

de digitale stilbeeldcamera in het onderwater-camerahuis een plaats met

zo weinig mogelijk vocht.

·Controleer voor elk gebruik van het onderwater-camerahuis nog even of

er niets, ook geen haartje, klem is geraakt tussen de voorste en de

achterste helft van het onderwaterhuis.

·Veel onderwater-opnamen worden ontsierd door een blauwe zweem die

over alles ligt. Dit kunt u voorkomen door gebruik te maken van de (los

verkrijgbare) VF-MP5K kleurenfilterset, die als optionele accessoire bij het

onderwaterhuis leverbaar is.

Geschikte tijden voor opnemen

De beste tijd voor het opnemen onder water is tussen 10:00 uur' s ochtends

en 2:00 uur' s middags, wanneer de zon hoog aan de hemel staat.

Voor heldere opnamen bij nacht of op plaatsen waar geen zonlicht

doordringt, kunt u gebruik maken van de HVL-ML20 onderwater-

videolamp (los verkrijgbaar).

Verhelpen van storingen

Probleem

Er zitten druppeltjes water

binnen in de

onderwaterbehuizing.

· De sluitklem zit niet stevig dicht.

b Druk de sluitklem dicht totdat deze

Cuando utilice un trípode, cerciórese de que

tenga un tornillo de 6,5 mm o menos. Este equipo

no podrá sujetarse firmemente con tornillos

largos. Además, estos tornillos podrían dañar el

equipo.

Statiefschroefgang

Voor opstelling op een statief dient u een statief

met een schroef die niet langer is dan 6,5 mm te

gebruiken. Dit apparaat is niet stevig te

bevestigen op een statief met een langere schroef.

Bovendien zou een langere schroef dit apparaat

kunnen beschadigen.
