Trinitron technology
A superfine aperture grill of 0.25 mm guarantees sharp, well defined colours and maximum brightness.
Designed with thin, unbroken vertical openings that allow more electrons to reach the colour phosphors on the screen;
images are brighter and colours are more vibrant than those produced by conventional shadow mask systems.
Multiscan Computer Monitor performance
Multiscan monitor performance allows the vertical and horizontal scan frequencies to automatically match your input
signal, providing a consistent level of spectacular performance across a wide range of video standards.
Multiscan capability provides the added flexibility of upgrade to a higher graphics board standard without changing
your monitor
Magnetic Field compensation
Because of the effects of the earth's magnetic field and Trinitron's exceptionally fine 0.25 mm pitch, special attention
has been given to beam landing. Sony engineers have developed compensation circuitry to cancel the effects of beam
mislanding. Additionally, raster rotation and purity control are user adjustable.
Convergence Correction
Convergence is the precise overlapping of the electron beam colours on the phosphor. Sony has implemented a spe-
cially designed correction circuit which reduces deviation to less than 0.3 mm in all picture areas, ensuring sharp,
accurate colour.
Trouble free installation with Plug and Play
There are no installation problems with the 20SHT. Thanks to it's Display Data Channel (DDC) compatibility, the
20SHT will plug straight into PC's running windows 95 and play without delay. DDC is a new VESA (Video Elec-
tronics Standard Association) standard that allows the monitor to convey important information about itself to the
graphics card enabling automatic adjustments. Provided the graphic card is also DDC compatible, the display will be
used to its optimum advantage.
Low Radiation Standards
Complies with TCO92 low emmisions regulations with TUV ergonomics mark.
TCO92 and Energy Star Power Management
Sony remains committed to a policy of enviromental and ergonomic safety. The Multiscan 20SHT complies fully with
the EPA's (USA environmental Protection Agency) power management guidelines, and even with stricter guidelines
as laid down by TCO92 specifications.
Advanced Colour temp control
Colour temperature can be adjusted to afford a greater match between print and display. Two preset settings of 5000K
and 9300K are offered, and one additional user controlled mode of 6500K.
