Connect each speaker
For correct sound, it's important that the positive and negative
terminals of the reciever and each speaker are matched. To help you
do this, attach the supplied colored self-adhesive labels to one half
of each speaker cable.
· Use a single-pin RCA
cable (not supplied) to
connect your subwoofer
· Prepare the speaker cable by
stripping about 0.4 in. of the plastic
shielding from each speaker wire.
· To connect, release the speaker
terminal tabs, insert a wire into each
terminal, then close the tab to secure.

Install your speakers
When connecting and installing your speakers, please also read the
instructions that came with them. They will contain useful
information on getting the best sound from them, as well as
important safety and usage information.
You can connect up to seven speakers, including a subwoofer, to the
VSX-50 for home cinema surround sound. If you don't plan on a full
seven-speaker setup, make sure that you at least connect the front
left and right speakers.
Arrange the speakers in your listening room using the above
diagram as a guide. Ideally, your listening position and the front
left/right speakers should form an equal-sided triangle of between
six and nine feet.
