Precautions on battery
·Keepbatteryoutofreachofchildrenandin
originalpackageuntilreadytouse.Disposeof
usedbatteriespromptly.Ifswallowedcontact
physicianimmediately.
·Donotleavethebatterynearfireorunder
directsunlight.Afire,explosionorexcessive
heatgenerationmayresult.
·Donotsettheremotecontrolinhotplaces
suchasonthedashboard.
·DangerofexplosionifLithiumbatteryis
incorrectlyreplaced.Replaceonlywiththe
sameorequivalenttype.
Protecting the monitor
Toprotectthemonitorfromdamage,donot
operatethemonitorusingaballpointpenor
similartoolwiththesharptip.
Lens fogging
Whenyouturnonthecarheaterincold
weather,deworcondensationmayformon
thelensinthediscplayeroftheunit.Called
lensfogging,thiscondensationonthelens
maynotallowdiscstoplay.Insuchasituation,
removethediscandwaitforthecondensation
toevaporate.Iftheunitstilldoesnotoperate
normallyafterawhile,consultyourKenwood
dealer.
Precautions on handling discs
·Donottouchtherecordingsurfaceofthedisc.
·Donotsticktapeetc.onthedisc,oruseadisc
withtapestuckonit.
·Donotusedisctypeaccessories.
·Cleanfromthecenterofthediscandmove
outward.
·Whenremovingdiscsfromthisunit,pullthem
outhorizontally.
·Ifthedisccenterholeoroutsiderimhasburrs,
usethedisconlyafterremovingtheburrswith
aballpointpenetc.
·Discsthatarenotroundcannotbeused.
·8-cm(3inch)discscannotbeused.
·Discswithcoloringontherecordingsurfaceor
discsthataredirtycannotbeused.
·ThisunitcanonlyplaytheCDswith

Acquiring GPS signal
Thefirsttimeyouturnonthisunit,youmust
waitwhilethesystemacquiressatellitesignals
forthefirsttime.Thisprocesscouldtakeup
toseveralminutes.Makesureyourvehicle
isoutdoorsinanopenareaawayfromtall
buildingsandtreesforfastestacquisition.
Afterthesystemacquiressatellitesforthefirst
time,itwillacquiresatellitesquicklyeachtime
thereafter.
About the front panel
Whenremovingtheproductfromtheboxor
installingit,thefrontpanelmaybepositioned
attheangleshownin(Fig.1).Thisisduetothe
characteristicsofmechanismtheproductis
equippedwith.
Whentheproductisfirstpoweredonworks
properly,thefrontpanelwillautomaticallymove
intotheposition(initialsettingangle)shownin
(Fig.2).

Cleaning The Unit
If the faceplate of this unit is stained,
wipe it with a dry soft cloth such
as a silicon cloth. If the faceplate
is stained badly, wipe the stain off
with a cloth moistened with neutral
cleaner, then wipe it again with a
clean soft dry cloth.
·Applying spray cleaner directly to the
unit may affect its mechanical parts.
Wiping the faceplate with a hard cloth or
using a volatile liquid such as thinner or
alcohol may scratch the surface or erase
screened print.
How To Reset Your Unit
If the unit or the connected unit fails
to operate properly, reset the unit.
1 Pressthe<Reset>button.
The unit returns to factory settings.
NOTE
·DisconnecttheUSBdevicebeforepressing
the<Reset>button.Pressingthe<Reset>
buttonwiththeUSBdeviceconnectedcan
damagethedatastoredintheUSBdevice.

streetsigns,visualsightings,andmaps.Forsafety,
alwaysresolveanydiscrepanciesorquestions
beforecontinuingnavigation.
Alwaysoperatethevehicleinasafemanner.
Donotbecomedistractedbythenavigation
systemwhiledriving,andalwaysbefullyaware
ofalldrivingconditions.Minimizetheamountof
timespentviewingthescreenofthenavigation
systemwhiledriving,andusevoiceprompts
whenpossible.
Donotenterdestinations,changesettings,or
accessanyfunctionsrequiringprolongeduseof
thenavigationsystemcontrolswhiledriving.Stop
yourvehicleinasafeandlegalmannerbefore
attemptingsuchoperations.
Keepthesystemvolumeatalowenoughlevelto
beabletohearoutsidenoiseswhiledriving.Ifyou
cannolongerhearoutsidenoises,youmaybe
unabletoreactadequatelytothetrafficsituation.
Thismaycauseaccidents.
Thenavigationsystemwillnotdisplaythecorrect
currentpositionofthevehiclethefirsttimeitis
usedafterpurchase,orifthevehiclebatteryis
disconnected.GPSsatellitesignalswillsoonbe
received,however,andthecorrectpositionwill
bedisplayed.
Becarefuloftheambienttemperature.Usingthe
navigationsystematextremetemperaturescan
leadtomalfunctionordamage.Alsonotethat
theunitcanbedamagedbystrongvibration,by
metalobjects,orbywatergettinginsidetheunit.

withroutesuggestions.Itdoesnotreflectroad
closuresorroadconditions,weatherconditions,
orotherfactorsthatmayaffectsafetyortiming
whiledriving.
Usethenavigationsystemonlyasanavigational
aid.Donotattempttousethenavigationsystem
foranypurposerequiringprecisemeasurementof
direction,distance,location,ortopography.
TheGlobalPositioningSystem(GPS)isoperated
bytheUnitedStatesgovernment,whichissolely
responsibleforitsaccuracyandmaintenance.The
governmentsystemissubjecttochangesthat
couldaffecttheaccuracyandperformanceofall
GPSequipment,includingthenavigationsystem.
Althoughthenavigationsystemisaprecision
navigationdevice,anynavigationdevicecanbe
misusedormisinterpretedand,therefore,become
unsafe.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Vehicle Battery Preservation
Thisnavigationsystemcanbeusedwhenthe
ignitionkeyisturnedtoONorACC.Topreserve
thebattery,however,itshouldbeusedwiththe
enginerunningwheneverpossible.Usingthe
navigationsystemforalongtimewiththeengine
switchedoffcancausethebatterytorundown.
